Ryan Moore dominated the back 9 in the final round of the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina on Sunday, making 5 consecutive birdies on holes 12-16. Unfortunately he bogeyed the 18th hole, but it was still good enough to get him into a playoff. Moore plays a mixed bag of clubs, but his driver, woods and hybrids are all Adams, and his driver is the Adams Speedline.
After completing his round, he had to wait an hour for the leaders to finish their round, and find out whether his play was good enough for the outright win. Kevin Stadler could have wrapped up his victory, but bogeyed the 18th hole as well. Jason Bohn also managed to get into the playoff, but ended up being eliminated after the first playoff hole.
Kevin Stadler and Ryan Moore played 3 playoff holes until on the 18th hole, Stadler bogeyed while Moore birdied. That 18th hole had Stadler’s number, because it cost him the victory in regulation, and in the playoff.
Here are Ryan Moore’s clubs this week:
| Driver | Adams Speedline 9032LS 8.5° |
| Fairway Woods | Adams Speedline 9032 Ti 14.5° |
| Hybrids | Adams Idea Pro Gold 18° & 22° |
| Irons | Ping S59 (4-PW) |
| Wedges | Ping MB 54°, Titleist Vokey Design Spin Milled 60° |
| Putter | Scotty Cameron for Titleist Newport 303 |
| Ball | Callaway Tour i |
Clearly, Ryan is not committed to any particular brand. He plays the clubs he thinks will give him the best chance of winning. I admire that, because while I’m sure he makes plenty of money, he doesn’t want to cowtow to any golf club company. I’ve always wondered why Tiger Wood would bother making commercials or endorsing golf clubs.
Here’s the tally of victories for each golf club company:
TaylorMade – 10
Nike – 8
Titleist – 5
Callaway – 2
Cobra – 2
Ping – 1
Mizuno – 2
Cleveland – 1
Adams – 1
Miscellaneous – 1
I decided to give Moore’s victory to Adams, even though it certainly could have gone to miscellaneous.
