Several of the golf clubs manufacturers are currently holding sales. Cleveland's offer has a couple different sales.

A set of golf clubs worth $2300 was stolen from an unlocked storage area at a Cleveland County, North Carolina golf course. The storage area was for golfers at the club, and the room was left unlocked during the day.

Both Brian Gay and Luke Donald play Mizuno golf clubs, and they took 1st and 2nd place at the Verizon Heritage at the Harbor Town Golf Links on Sunday. Brian Gay broke Loren Robert’s 1996 tournament record by 1 stroke, by shooting -20. He won by a very wide margin—10 strokes over Luke Donald and Briny Baird who tied for 2nd.

For the big name players, the golf clubs companies will pay quite a bit to sponsor that player. Many of the smaller companies can’t afford to compete with the bigger companies to sponsor a player. When Phil Mickelson started out on the PGA tour, he played Yonex golf clubs, and of course they can’t afford to pay near as much as Callaway. Here’s a list of the staff players for each company.

The 18 year old Korean who was raised in New Zealand, won the U.S. Amateur, and gained exemption into several PGA tournaments. He’ll be making his pro debut at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans next week.

Kenny Perry played great in the Masters last week for 70 holes. He led by 2 strokes with 2 holes to play, and managed to bogey those last 2 holes. Part of the reason he played so great was due to his putting the TaylorMade R9 driver in his bag.

It was an exciting Masters weekend, as Angel Cabrera, whose golf bag is 100% filled with Ping golf clubs, won in a 3-way, sudden-death playoff on the 2nd hole. I’d say Cabrera just ground out the victory with steady play. Cabrera was playing in the final group, and found himself on the tee box at the 17th hole, 2 strokes behind.
