Jamie Sadlowski won the 2008 RE/MAX Long Drive Championship with Cobra golf clubs, but has decided to go with Adams golf clubs in the future. He’ll be using Adams’ Speedline Driver. He won the competiton with a 418 yard drive in the final round.
Adams convinced Sadlowski that they had the technical competence to help him win. Adams is particularly proud of the hybrid clubs, and in one of the testing sessions, Sadlowski hit a hybrid 330 yards through the end of the driving range.
As we grow up playing sports, our coaches often discourage us from pursuing the flashy aspects of whatever sport. Basketball coaches don’t want us taking long shots or doing fancy dribbling. That may be good advice for kids in certain sports, but I’m convinced that those who encourage young men not to pursue hitting their driver as far as possible are incorrect.
Certainly, you want to be in the fairway as much as possible, but having really long drives are very advantageous to your scoring. Generally, the longest drives are the purest hit, and I think it’s OK to pursue those long drives.
Sadlowski will be featured in Adams’ marketing, and will participate in golf exhibitions when he gets a break from the long drive competitions. The first event of the long drive 2009 season starts today.

I suppose there’s always a gamble involved for these golf companies. Chip Brewer, president and CEO of Adams Golf said, "Jamie is an exceptional athlete and a fine young man and we're very happy that he's representing our brand and playing our new products." It’s probably safe to say that Sadlowski isn’t going to go out and get arrested, but there’s certainly no guarantee of his future performance. I’m sure that if Adams invests a lot in Sadlowski they’re also going to take out a life insurance policy on the guy. After all 10 out of 10 people die. But I’m sure they know what they’re doing.
